Previously highlighted at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, this iteration of Multiform runs during FIFA 2026 World Cup and in conjunction with The Broad’s special exhibition, Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind. In keeping with Ono’s Fluxus spirit and anti-war ethos, attendees are invited to activate Ono's Wish Trees for Los Angeles (1966/2026) in the olive grove and interact with her White Chess Set (1966) in the first-floor exhibition galleries, an all-white set where “opponents” devise new strategies—or play until they lose track of their pieces.
Sign up onsite to participate in Multiform starting 30 minutes before each match on a first-come, first-served basis.

Gabriel Fontana
Gabriel Fontana is a designer recognized for his distinctive approach to social design, reshaping society through new sports games tailored to today’s world. The goal of his methods is to give people a playful way of experiencing what the prevailing norms of identity, community and inclusion really mean, and how we can bring about change. He uses sport as a perfect metaphor for society, where the idea of playing “against each other” is usually the norm. His game Multiform has been played in schools throughout Europe, showcased at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and recently acquired by MoMA—becoming the first queer sport to enter a museum collection. Multiform was developed in collaboration with philosopher Nathanja van den Heuvel and Rotterdam based primary and secondary schools, sport teachers and their pupils.
