Overview

Sensory Morning at The Broad is a free ticketed event that provides early access to the third-floor collections galleries to visitors who benefit from a sensory-friendly experience. Reservations are required as space is limited.

In addition to the third floor galleries, Jeffrey Gibson: the space in which to place me will be open and free to all Sensory Morning attendees—a unique opportunity to view this limited-run exhibition.

What to expect:

  • Access to the museum before public hours
  • Smaller crowds and quieter galleries
  • Sensory kits with noise-reducing headphones and sensory touch items (limited availability, upon request)
  • Adjustments to sound and lighting
  • An online social narrative to help prepare for your visit
  • Trained museum staff who are happy to share their extensive knowledge of the museum’s collection and make necessary accommodations

Visitors of all ages are welcome to attend.

In an effort to better serve families with diverse needs, staff working this event have undergone additional training related to accessibility and inclusive programming. Read more about The Broad’s commitment to accessibility, and please email info@thebroad.org for accessibility questions or assistance.

Please note: Jeffrey Gibson's She Never Dances Alone (2020) is a video installation with auditory and visual elements. Visitors pass through a curtain to enter a dark space with flashing lights and loud music. An alternate path to bypass this artwork is available upon request.
